The New Mexico Clash Developmental Soccer Program
In this second stage of our holistic program, we introduce children to a more dynamic-but still developmentally appropriate-approach to playing soccer. The players are assigned teams with a competitive schedule of games in the NWRGSL. Depending on their age, players are exposed to either one or two practices a week and a Saturday match.
The coaches in this part of our program are mostly volunteer parents, who have access to assistance by the professional staff in the development of their practice and game plans. The focus is still in the development of athletic abilities and technical proficiency with the ball. Coaches, however, are encouraged to create a competitive environment that is appropriate and suitable with the development of their players.
Additionally, in an effort to developed life-long soccer players, we assist coaches, parents and players in the formation of teams with a philosophy of the game that is compatible with most of its members. This practice allows us to better serve the needs of our membership with regards to the intensity of development that is well-suited to the character and temperament of the players involved.
