The New Mexico Clash Soccer Club was officially formed in 2005 by the merger of the Paradise Hills and FC West soccer clubs. Our soccer roots in New Mexico run deep - the Paradise Hills Soccer Club was originally established in 1976, and was one of the founding members of the Northwest Rio Grande Soccer League. The merger of these two clubs combines the best aspects of recreational and competitive soccer and provides increased opportunities for our players and teams. Today, the New Mexico Clash Soccer Club is one of the largest soccer clubs in the state of New Mexico with over 800 registered players and over 80 teams, both recreational and competitive.
Primarily drawing its players from, and practicing in, the Paradise Hills, Taylor Ranch and Ventana Ranch neighborhoods, registration is nonetheless open to all youth soccer players in the Albuquerque metro area. Beginning as early as U4, our teams have the opportunity to compete in either the Northwest Rio Grande Soccer League's recreational or the Duke City Soccer League's competitive schedules during two 8 week seasons, one each in the fall and spring of each year.
As part of our commitment to the development of youth soccer in the state of New Mexico, the New Mexico Clash Soccer Club hosts summer skills clinics and other training sessions throughout the year. We also host two annual tournaments, one recreational and the other competitive. As charter members of the Northwest Rio Grande Soccer League, our Board of Directors actively participates in the League's monthly policy and planning meetings. Many of our volunteers also serve in public sectors that directly affect policy for youth soccer in New Mexico. We also retain several professional coaches on staff who assist both our recreational and competitive teams with the development of fundamental and advanced soccer skills and tactics.
